I am wrapping up my last year as a teacher. I have many things to say about what is wrong with the system and little about what is right with the system.
Currently I am sitting home sick with a stomach virus and decided to rent a movie on demand, what do I rent “Detachment” starring Adrien Brody. I am left speechless. This movie says everything about why I am leaving teaching. For me it is a disturbingly accurate fictional film, but a fitting explanation of why.
I hope that one day I can return to being a teacher, cause I do love it, but I am tired, broken, beaten down. Will the strength return to me one day to try again?
